Kisumu, KenyaCollins Omondi — ComonHQ

I build software for organizations that don't have an engineering team of their own.

Speaking at a community hackathon, Kisumu.

A church network. A youth movement. Two education nonprofits. Two startups in the US — that's who I've built for, under the name ComonHQ.

I do it all myself — design, backend, deployment. No account managers, no handoffs between teams. Write to me and you're talking to the person actually writing the code.

The work

Everything below shipped to production. What each client needed, and what it was built with.

Next.js · TypeScript · Tailwind CSS

ZenaAI Automation

USA

Needed a modern, conversion-focused website to clearly communicate AI automation services.

Next.js · TypeScript · Tailwind CSS

VAR 37-38

Kenya

Needed a digital presence to communicate mission and organize a youth movement.

Next.js · TypeScript · Tailwind CSS

Handz-on Africa

Ghana

A project empowering Africa's next generation with STEAM education.

Next.js · Sanity · React

PAG Kenya

Kenya

Designed and developed the official institutional digital platform for PAG Kenya (Pentecostal Assemblies of God – Kenya), providing a centralized online presence for ministries, leadership, sermons, events, and organizational communication. The platform was built with scalability, accessibility, performance, and long-term maintainability in mind.

How it gets built

One person, full-stack — design, backend, and deployment. The stack changes to fit the client, not the other way around.

Next.js and TypeScript for most product and marketing work. WordPress for institutional clients whose staff need to edit the site themselves, not file a ticket. Paystack and Postgres where payments and structured data are involved.

I also work in Python (FastAPI, Django) for backend-heavy jobs, and have shipped React Native mobile apps outside of ComonHQ's client work — that side just isn't reflected in the tools below yet.

A place to talk shop

I run a Discord — 170+ people, mostly Kenyan and other African developers — where we share what we're building, debug things together, and argue about tools. It's informal. Come hang out.
